Dahlia Growing Workshops

Bookings for Dahlia Growing Workshops for 2025 are now closed. We''ll offer more in Winter of 2026.

Suitable for complete beginners through to new growers who have fallen in love with dahlias and want to learn more.

Spaces will be limited to 10.

Our workshops will cover a range of topics including:

  • bed preparation
  • staking
  • mulching
  • planting
  • record keeping
  • feeding and watering
  • pests and diseases
  • seed collection
  • digging and dividing 
  • storage of tubers

We'll share what has worked for us and what hasn't so that you can learn from both our successes and our failures along the way. 

A demonstration of tuber dividing is included.

Unfortunately we don't have enough tuber clumps available for you to practice on,  however you are welcome to bring your own clump with you if you would like some advice/guidance and want to practice on your own clump. (You will need to bring your own dividing tools, snips)

We'll also have a Q & A session to allow you to ask all the questions you'd like answered about dahlia growing.

All attendees will also receive a booklet to take home covering all topics discussed.

A complimentary morning tea will be provided for all of our guests.

We expect the workshop to run for 2-3 hours .

I recently attended the Dahlia Workshop with Belinda and Reg, and it was absolutely fantastic! 🌸

They were both incredibly generous with their knowledge, sharing all the tips, tricks, dos and don’ts you need to grow beautiful dahlias.

Whether you're a complete newbie or dreaming of becoming a dahlia queen like me (lol), this workshop is perfect.

One of the highlights was walking through their stunning garden—it was such a treat to see their blooms up close!

They also provided a lovely morning tea with delicious
home-baked goodies (seriously impressive!), which made the experience even more
special.
